Hair!!!

Recently I've been having a crazy urge to cut my super long hair. I really love my hair (lol), but I guess it was getting quite hard to manage. Like it takes a long time to wash and to dry. And when I carry my bagpack on my shoulders my hair always gets kiapped in between and most of the time it just snaps off. Also when I tie a high ponytail it feels quite heavy, but when I tie a low ponytail it looks cui =.= the bff and my mother has been telling me that it looks TOO long. :( I don't understand, why didn't they think my long hair was... beautiful? LOL *zilian*

My brother was even more baffled. 

Me: Should I cut my hair??? 

Bro: Cut lor? O.o I cut every month

Me: You don't understand! I haven't cut my hair in years!

Bro: -tio stun-

In my crazed impulse, I stormed off to the barber's and had my hair cut!!!

Haha honestly it's no big deal la, I thought I'll be very sad. But I still feel that super long hair suits me better XD at least it's super light now and looks a lot more healthy!

I'm just gonna have to werk my new look. *hair flip* 

Jingqi's acronym

Jingqi has been bugging me to do an acronym for her name as well after I did zixin's and jocelyn's. Bohpian, she's one of the few friends I have so no choice. LOL.

Y I SO PROCRASTINATE

Hi guys,

Today was kinda a tough day.

I went to see my stats tutor to get a review on the recent stats quiz which I only got 60% for. 

And he said "How did you get this wrong" at least 5 times. OTL

I'm sure he didn't mean it offensively because he truly sounded baffled LoL. 

I can't rest on the fact that math is my best subject anymore. Really needa mugggggg.

And....The misfortunes from my procrastination has yet to cease. :(

Tuesday was a nice public holiday for me to do my tutorials and catch up on studies but I slacked it away. :(

The panic doesn't seem to hit me before 9.30pm lol. Before that I'd just think "chey, watch one more video only ma, how long can that take?" Then I'll just click on one of the shinee video on the sidebar, which I probably watched 20 times before already. This cycle basically sums up my whole day. Sobs!

Then I'll do my tutorial until 12midnight and wake up the next morning, zombified.

Random post on my Korean name

So my sonsaengnim wanted us to write our names in Korean on our homework, and she told those of us who have Christian names that we can use the Chinese-Korean instead.

Back in jc, me and zx and jq googled and found out our Chinese names in Korean! Mine was 원가령 (Won ka ryeong). So I happily wrote it on my exercise paper and handed in my homework.

But I realized karyeong is very difficult to pronounce for non-native speakers! For the r/l sound you kinda need to flick your tongue a little. So it's kinda weird that I can't pronounce my name right haha.

And yesterday I found out I couldn't associate with my name ! Sonsaengnim wanted me to answer a question but I was obliviously stoning. Only realized after 3 seconds lol. 

Now I wanna change my Korean name to something in Korean that sounds like Angela but sonsaengnim recognize me as karyeong ssi already. Oh wells.

Zx's belated birthday

Haiz, in our busy schedule, jq and I actually took 3 months to celebrate zx's birthday! Honestly I kinda forgot OTL I was literally dumbfounded in shock when jq reminded me. Ten seconds later I was still like "we..... What?!" 

I just checked my chat history with zx and days after her birthday we were still talking about my wisdom tooth operation LOL. Zx Y U NO scold me!! Luckily for me I have such an accommodating friend who didn't decide to ignore me forever. ^_^

Funnily, last time in JC, me, zx and jq always talked about how nice would it be if we could be conscientious-girly-girls (CGGs). CGGs are the girls who had cute notebooks where they record birthdays of everyone from their clique (with their very cute stationary). CGGs are very organized, their notes are always in order and you can always count on them if you need to photocopy tutorial answers because as expected, they have perfect handwriting that does not ever go haywire even if they are in a rush. 

But no... Tried as we may, our trio always remained.. boorish. Haha. Aish actually these are just excuses la! 

So to make it up to Zixin, we decided to surprise her! 

Being the typical clumsy un-CGG, I almost ruined the surprise for her.

Lol I wanted to ask jq to think with me what to do for Zixin but typed it into the group chat with Zixin. Zzz

Made me so panicky that I started sweating!! Thankfully she didn't really suspect anything hahahaha. 

Lol jq happily ignored my panic.

But yay, the surprise went well. We did girly things like customizing a cake, getting a cutesy present and cheesy card!! Hope she likes it XP 

Learnt my lesson, gotta be more conscientious next time. XD

Life update + Jocelyn's acronym

Hi what's up.

Time flies, next week will already be my 7th week in Ntu :0 Been so busy but I can't keep track of what I'm busy with. Lol. It's like I'm rushing through my work in half-dead mode to meet the deadlines so I can't seem to retain much info. How howz. Thankfully marketing presentation and econs test is over already. Stats proposal and Korean test next week!

Korean class is awesome. An effective way to get better at it is to watch more Korean varieties and dramas! I love!

But, I really need to maximize my time. I think I said this before but I really procrastinate too much. I can spend time staring at my com, staring out of the window, playing candy crush (which I come to hate), walking around the house, while the tutorials pile up... Rawr I have to get over this!!!

this update is so random...

Uni: week 1

The first week of uni lectures has ended and I have to say school has been pretty overwhelming so far. Lecturers teach at lightning speed (one of them has an incomprehensible accent) and the topics are so foreign! Stats! Marketing! Organizational behavior! :00 

At least I have background knowledge in econs, which makes following lectures alot easier. But still, in the first lecture we studied from PPC curve all the way to elasticity!! That took a few months to cover in JC. 

Gone are the days where lecturers go at snail speed to accommodate students :( never appreciated by JC tutors more. I guess I need to learn how to be more independent in my studies. Haha but how do I stop procrastinating? I keep getting distracted. I even procrastinated to read the anti-procrastination article that my dad told me to read... The irony XD

Also NTU is so huge! I don't like to meet people on the way because I'm panting and sweating from climbing stairs and walking location to location lol. Wish we had genting weather here in sunny sg. 

Hopefully I'm not alone in feeling stressed and lost. I want to adapt to school soon! That day Peter was telling me that his first impression of me was that I'm zen, and for Jingqi it was that she thinks too much :00 complete opposite! I get stressed easily and Jingqi is super chill. I recounted to him a story: in J1 project work, my Preliminary Ideas (PI) got rejected by my tutor 5 days before the deadline and I was so stressed that I cried and prayed haha. Surely enough, i met 2 people who helped me finish my PI on time! Thank God! And for jingqi, I think she got rejected even later than me but she had no reaction?! Like I was beside her when the tutor told her the news and I felt my heart drop for her lols. And of course Peter bingo-ed Jocelyn's first impression--- blur and confused. Hahaha!!

Resolution of the year: Trust in God and be zen~~

Living on the wild side of life~~

On Monday me and Jocelyn wanted to attend the nbs orientation talks like good students would. Not surprisingly, with our terrible sense of direction, we couldn't even locate nanyang auditorium. (._.) We got lost for 45 mins (the whole duration of the talk) and when we arrived, the students were already streaming out. One of the female ushers said- because we missed the whole talk, we weren't entitled to a goodie bag. OTL ttm. Jocelyn attempted to join the queue of people streaming out but easily got recognized by the female usher LOLOL. At that moment we saw a male usher (who looked pretty friendly) pushing a trolley of extra goodie bags and Jocelyn and me stared at each other... And rushed towards him in big, aunty strides... 

In Jocelyn's pov of the story, I activated my "sad-teary-puppy-eyes" (??) while explaining to the usher that we didn't mean to miss the talk but we got really lost. The male usher was in a super 为难 position. So at last... (I'm not supposed to tell anyone about the outcome but... It was pretty positive ;) ) kekekekekeke

After the whole orientation program jingqi suddenly invited me and Jocelyn to crash at her hall for the night! I was quite hesitant because I was thinking "what about my toothbrush! What about my retainers! What about my dental floss! (lol)" The teeth cleanliness freak in me came out. XP I also worried about where i'll find an orange because i like to eat oranges everyday *awkward silence* (._.) But because Jocelyn and Jingqi were so keen, I went along with them! In the end, I didn't floss or use retainers for the night :0 and didn't have an orange :0 we played saboteur for a night time activity while waiting for our hair to dry then proceeded to sleep. 

The next day we went to play pool! Jocelyn and me teamed up and got owned by jingqi for 7 rounds and we finally won the 8th round keke. Jingqi is great at pool so for every ball that goes in, a "jingqi" happens. When Jocelyn gets a ball in she would also hit the white ball in so that phenomenon is called a "Jocelyn". Whereas for myself, whenever I hit a very fail-proof ball, it would rebound from side to side of the hole and thereafter, FAIL, so that is called an "Angela". {(-_-)} le sigh.

After that it was time for Jingqi's orientation program so she went off to school and Jocelyn and me went to Haji lane to shop, because we watched Qiuqiu's budget Barbie show and there is apparently super nice and cheap clothing there. In the end we only found clothes with average price- $80... Super unfruitful shopping trip TT 

We were so shagged at that time but the adventure wasn't over just yet!! Jingqi, Jocelyn and me went to playnation to play the dance game. Halfway through our session Jocelyn's lover(?) came to join us hahahaha. I shan't give details and risk being murdered by her lol. And so... we danced with all our might and became really sticky and went home. And we missed the last train and cabbed home.

End of working stint at de Pacific :(

Today was the third last day at work at de Pacific. It's really such a sad feeling to be leaving people that I've come to be so comfortable with, can't stop tears from welling up each time I think of how they have been so kind to me for the past 5 months. My boss treated us to Pizza Hut on Monday because it was my last week at work!  

I will always remember how I panic when the dentist asked for instruments with chim names, and would run to ask my colleagues while the dentist and patient waited XD I will remember how the dental clinic would transform into a gauze production factory (while watching korean dramas) when the patients were late for appointments. I will remember how I got corrupted because my colleagues were always sharing sick jokes. I will remember how i threw away a patient's x-ray because i thought it was trash. And the time where the patient gave $1000 dollar bill for $500 treatment and was like "wah, dont even have change ah?" and Maria said " we cut the note into half and return u one part?" LOL. I will remember how me and my colleagues had to dig through trash because a scaler tip was thrown away accidentally. The list goes on and on...

It has truly been such an honor and privilege to have worked here for the past 5 months. Even when I first came with no experience as a dental nurse, I was able to catch on because I had such great teachers. I really enjoyed myself in the de Pacific family and always looked forward to work each day. Thanks for making me feel warm and welcomed in my workplace. I don't express myself well, but I'm always filled with gratitude towards all of you. 

As I go on to pursue my studies, my thoughts are with you. I hope that everyone at de Pacific finds success and fulfillment in all that you do!
