SG50 activities with friends!

In the spirit of SG50, Jocelyn searched for many discounted things that we could do this weekend to "feel the hype" and "be a patriotic Singaporean". XD

Yesterday, we decided to meet S for lunch and then go to Science Center to fulfill our geeky tendencies.

We realised that we haven't sat down with S for a meal in years but yet we could still click like it was 6 years ago! Glad we took the effort to catch up with our old friends this vacation :)

Lunch was a super yummy meal of Yagane, which was korean grilled meat and veggies! Too bad I didn't take pictures TTTTT Can't wait to taste the real deal at korea wahahha!!The chili and smoke was stinging our eyes so badly that we had to run out of the restaurant in the end LOL.

Off to Science Center! It was free because of the SG50 celebrations but we didn't expect the huge throngs of people there. We got laughed at by our friends because we reached there at 3pm when all kiasu Singaporeans probably reached early in the morning XD. Unfortunately, when we finally made it in, all the fun exhibitions that we enjoyed in the past could not be found! They were replaced by many boring exhibitions!! It was also so claustrophobic because there was just so many people. My energy was quickly depleted and I went into lethargic mode LOL.

Luckily we found a garden and started to sing and take selfies there! Which was a quick energy replenisher!

The garden was pretty awesome too! Shall let the pictures do the talking:
Nomming fresh cabbage.

Nice flowers!!

Yup, a pretty anti-climatical end to the science center trip cause it was too crowded to enjoy yesterday XD

Today was an interesting day. I started off rushing down to scape to help with Enactus video, where I was supposed to act as a student listening attentively to a talk. After we listened to the beneficiary giving us a brief of what she wanted to say and were ready to film, Joshua said that he filmed our reactions and it was already a good take. LOL. Ended up not acting at all.

After that we spent some time getting the beneficiary, who was a Visually impaired person, to share some of her difficulties in being someone who was visually impaired. My heart really went out to her as she described the fear she had in going to bed every night as her sight began to deteriorate. She was afraid that her vision would take a turn for the worse the next morning when she wakes up. When she lost her sight, she initially struggled to get off her bed, which she described to be as high as her hip and may be dangerous should she slips off accidentally... BUT! So thankful that she finds satisfaction from being a teacher/trainer with one of our projects in Enactus!

After this we jio-ed HC to the arts science musuem (another free venue for SG50). But there were sooo many people. I think at least 500 people in the queue. We were told that the queue time was 3 hours... and we made the mistake of reporting at 4pm LOL (didn't learn from mistakes). Anyways that would mean 3 hours queue time for 30 min of exhibition viewing so we decided against it.

There was this counter thing from where we were to Esplanade, from 1 to 50. Jocelyn says we should walk the whole pathway to "enjoy the SG50 hype". Me and HC thought otherwise. We were in total yeye and popo mode hahaha. Somehow, Jocelyn the "granddaughter" managed to drag us into the searing hot sun to walk the 1 to 50 trail (we cheated, we started from 28). Jocelyn occasionally breaks into our favourite harmony song "Can't I love you" to try replenish my energy XD Aww thanks for the effort!

We concluded that Jocelyn's Happiness 101 mod has changed her. While we saw this experience as "walking in the searing hot sun when we could be enjoying the air con in MBS", Joce saw it as "walking down the memory lane of Singapore and making history". All of us walked the same path and had 2 different experiences! I decided that I should be more positive and not always see the bad side of things. It definitely helps to keep our energy level up. At one point I was so lethargic that I couldn't even take my phone out for selfies (even though I'm the designated photographer, having the best iPhone camera).

After that our legs were so tired that we decided to have an early dinner. We wanted to eat pizza but saw that 1 pizza that costs $18 to eat-in, while we can take-away 2 pizzas for $21. We considered calling for take-away and asking them to send it to this particular shop that we were at. LOL, decided against it as it was too troll. Even though we were all seated and ready to order, HC the yeye decides that we should not be scammed and asked us to just walk out. Which we did... Jocelyn says that it was the most thrilling moment of her life and that it should be blogged down XD
