KL Trip 2017 with Case Budz

Here to blog about the long overdue KL trip that we went 1 month ago!

The reason why I'm so tardy with blogging is because the iPhone blogger app is down forever. I think it is so unused that the creators of the app stopped doing updates for it and now it crashes every time I try to open it TT. Which means that I cannot blog on the go anymore and must upload all the photos from my phone onto my laptop to blog, which takes infinitely more effort lol.

So Joce and I decided to visit HC in KL where he was interning and we impromptu-ly booked a flight over there for the weekend~ It's pretty awesome because it only take about an hour to reach KL by plane and costs $120. Much better than a 5 hour coach since we had so little time already!

We took grab from the airport to HC's place and realised he was staying at a bungalow LOL and he permed his hair too LOL.

Note the permed hair hahaha
Our room for the night!
Being the impromptu people we are, we spontaneously decided to take a Grab up to Genting Highlands to take a look at the new malls and the casino. And it was already 5pm @.@ But it was an great 1 hour cab ride up as we finally caught up with each others' lives, yakking non-stop.

We wanted to take the cable car up and joined the queue... and there were about 500 people in front of us, so reminiscent of the custom queues when we come back from JB TT we killed time playing 'I spy with my little eye' and the category game hahaha. Then finally, managed to make it to the front of the line.
Excited to board!

We shared the cable car with another group of people (nuuu no privacy haha). The scenery was awesome and it was really really high up. It was really exciting until we reaslied that we were the only excitable kids in the cable car exclaiming at everything and everyone else was quiet LOL.
When we arrived, we realised the new mall was quite underwhelming but...... there was Kyochon chicken!!! Best Korean chicken in the world. Went in and order all the flavours and we decided that the best is SOY flavour. Must try!

It was pretty cold up at Genting Highlands so the next course of action was for us to follow HC for jacket shopping at Uniqlo. Literally bought the jacket and left the place right before the shutters closed.

Finally the last couse of action in the Genting day trip was to visit the casino. I wasn't planning to gamble but the casino gives a few free credits to use so... okay lor LOL. Here records the perilous event at the casino:

1) Backpacks forbidden!
Joce and HC were carrying backpacks which were not allowed in the casino (I brought a sling back which was okay). We asked for directions to the locker which was a long walk to the nearest mall, to realise that... there were only about 20 lockers in that area and.... they were all occupied...

We were actually quite sian about this and wanted to go back to HC's place already but were told by the staff that there are actually more lockers available elsewhere. We decided to place our bags at the other locker place, since the only thing we did at Genting so far, was to have chicken and buy a jacket LOLOL.

Quickly brisk walked to the other locker place excitedly, and realised that... yup... you got it... only 20 lockers available and all taken up.

To cut the long story short, the staff directed us to about 3 more places and the outcome was the same HAHAHAH what is this.

Then Joce randomly tried opening one of the lockers and realised that.. it can be opened! @.@ guess the system was kinda faulty so the locker is registered as a "locked locker". Joce and HC decided to dump their bags in the locker (but brought along their valuables).

Finally! We get to enter!

2) Smoke galore
The moment we entered, the cigarette smoke engulfed us. It was the most second hand smoke we'd ever breathed lol. I wanted to just quickly find the free credits machine and finish my credits and get out of there. We mentioned the name of the game to the staff inside, and they led us left right center... another wild goose chase to the machine (none of them allowed us to use the free credits?!)

After about 30 min, we gave up on finding the free credits machine. HC and Joce wanted to play poker but the minimum bet was like 30 bucks SGD so they gave up HAHAHAH.

I believe we were the only people who entered and left the casino without using a cent #nerdlife

3) The unfortunate locker
Went back to collect their bags and then... the locker couldn't be opened @.@ we tried tugging on it as hard as possible but the wouldn't budge. All the questions flew through our minds. How did the locker which couldn't be locker just now suddenly lock itself?

Quickly ran to the "Security" and they said the lockers are operated by outside vendors and they cant do anything to help us... Called the number of the "Outside vendors" and no one picked up the phone... haih it was leading to nowhere.

But it was getting late so Joce and HC decided that they could do without their bags and we should go back to HC's place already.

-End of perilous events at the casino lol-
Furious HC calling the locker vendor while Joce has clearly forgotten about the locker event HAHA

The next morning we decided to take it free and easy since Joce and I had a flight to catch in the afternoon. Due to the lack of a backpack, Joce went around with a plastic bag LOL. Did our favourite activity - kbox (so ex now that we are not students), hotpot (we went to two pesos, very nice! but arashi hotpot is still the best) then went to sunway pyramid mall for some last minute shopping.

And then we made it to the airport in good time and took the flight back. Great meetup hehe, love you guys :)

Hotpot always <3

Racing with Time

Haha I guess by the lack of updates it's quite evident that work is crazyyy. I'm starting to see how challenging it can be - from the late nights, difficulty of the work itself, lack of time and manpower, managing relationship with client etc.

With work flooding all my weekdays, I only have the weekends to do the following:
- Have a social life LOL- Meet friends + church friends + family
- Practice piano (getting rusty 😭)
- Study for June's exam (haven't even dug out my books)
- Exercise (sitting down for the entire week isn't gonna do me any good 😂)
- Me time (ie I miss couch potato life)

It certainly takes a lot of prioritizing and effort to resist temptation on things that are time wasters (being a couch potato) and do what I gotta do!

Work wise, client relationship is one that stresses me out the most. Each engagement is rather short and we have to go in, build rapport with clients and work with them to get all the info/documents we need to complete work.

So last week I was quite surprised that the client actually invited me and my colleague to go for lunch with 2 of them! The people that we had been bothering for a few weeks straight actually wanted to hang out lolol.

So during lunch I was joking about how I feel like a loan shark that everyone wants to avoid hahaha. Funnily, the client said "you all take the role of the police and us the thieves, how can we be friends?" ... and right after proceeded to treat us to drinks 😂 He adds, "This one so cheap not considered bribery ah!" 😂

Ah so thankful for nice clients like this that really brighten up my day. :) Makes the whole environment of work so pleasant haha. 👌🏻
